Aboitiz Foods earns global risk management certification

The Aboitiz Foods Risk Management Team obtained the RIMS-Certified Risk Management Professional global certification.

Aboitiz Foods,

a regional food and agribusiness company, achieved a major milestone as its Risk Management Team secured the globally recognized Risk and Insurance Management Society–Certified Risk Management Professional (RIMS-CRMP) credential. This achievement reinforces the company’s position as an emerging leader in the agrifood sector across Asia Pacific.

With 80% of its Risk Team now globally certified, Aboitiz Foods joins a select group of companies in the region that have raised risk governance to international standards. The certifications were awarded during the PARIMA Conference, Asia’s premier gathering of risk practitioners and corporate leaders.

“We see risk management as an enabler of growth and innovation. By managing it with discipline and foresight, we strengthen the foundation of our business—ensuring that our people, partners, customers, and communities continue to thrive together,” said Annacel Natividad, Aboitiz Foods Chief Risk Officer.

A global standard for a regional vision

RIMS-CRMP is the world’s only risk management certification accredited under ISO/IEC 17024, a benchmark for professional competence. It signifies mastery across key areas, including organizational models, risk strategies, process implementation, and data-driven decision-making.

In an industry challenged by food safety, supply chain stability, regulatory compliance, and climate-related unpredictability, Aboitiz Foods sees risk management as central to growth. The company views certification as a direct investment in strengthening quality, governance, and agility across the food value chain.

Operating across eight countries in Asia, Aboitiz Foods manages a broad network spanning feed mills, farms, logistics, trading, and food production. Proactive risk management is critical at every stage of this interconnected system.

“Being RIMS-CRMP certified strengthens our ability to support the business with clearer insights and more structured risk strategies,” said Ed Monares, Aboitiz Foods Assistant Vice President for Risk Management and DPO.

“For Aboitiz Foods, this means we can make decisions with greater confidence — grounded in global standards and aligned with our commitment to deliver quality from mill to meal.”

Advancing agribusiness excellence

Markets increasingly demand resilient and transparent food systems, placing greater emphasis on risk management expertise. Aboitiz Foods sees this capability as essential for navigating climate volatility, disease risks, rising costs, and stricter regulations.

This commitment extends beyond the company’s own operations to farmers, producers, suppliers, and partners throughout the whole food value chain.

“Earning this certification validates our everyday work, but it also pushes us to keep improving. Knowing that our expertise strengthens the company’s resilience gives our work deeper purpose,” said Jun Ning Tu, Aboitiz Foods Risk Specialist for China.

Guided by its brand attribute of building expertise for quality, the company underscores the need for agribusinesses to adopt risk-intelligent, technology-enabled, globally aligned systems.

By investing in its people and their capabilities, Aboitiz Foods reinforces its risk foundation to expand regionally, safeguard operations, and sustainably feed Asia’s growth from mill to meal.
