Gia Lai province approved Muyuan’s USD 138M livestock projects, including a 106-ha pig farm and a 360,000-ton feed plant.

Thinh Phat-Muyuan Gia Lai Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Muyuan Vietnam, has received approval for two large-scale projects in Po To commune, Gia Lai province, a report by The Investor said. The centerpiece is a 106-ha pig farm designed to raise 16,200 sows and 209,000 fattening pigs per cycle. Operating under a closed-loop model, the farm will run 2.17 cycles annually, ensuring consistent output.
The farm represents an investment of USD 118.3 million, combining equity and mobilized capital. Construction is expected to begin in late 2026, with production scheduled for the first quarter of 2028.
Thinh Phat-Muyuan Gia Lai will also establish a 6.5-ha feed plant with an annual capacity of 360,000 tons. The facility will produce compound feed, powdered feed, pellets, and premixes, supporting both the farm and regional producers.
The feed plant requires USD 19.65 million in investment and is expected to begin operations alongside the farm in early 2028. This integrated approach reflects Muyuan Vietnam’s strategy of combining feed production with farming to improve efficiency and maintain quality standards.
Gia Lai authorities have emphasized their commitment to sustainable agriculture and high-tech investment. During site inspections, provincial leaders highlighted the importance of balancing corporate interests with community benefits. Expectations include infrastructure reinvestment and contributions to local livelihoods.
Muyuan Vietnam CEO Liu Bo has pledged to accelerate procedures, aiming to break ground by October 11, 2026, if approvals progress smoothly.
Beyond the current projects, Muyuan Vietnam plans to establish an export-oriented meat processing plant in Gia Lai. Earlier this year, the company signed a memorandum of understanding for a larger investment package worth USD 251.1 million, combining pig farming and feed production.
Thinh Phat-Muyuan Gia Lai, founded in July 2026, operates under majority ownership of Muyuan Vietnam, a subsidiary of Muyuan Foods, China’s largest pig farming company. The parent group has built an integrated pork industry chain spanning feed, breeding, farming, slaughtering, and processing.
This investment highlights Vietnam’s growing appeal as a destination for foreign agribusiness capital. By introducing advanced farming models and large-scale feed production, the company’s projects could reshape livestock practices in central Vietnam.
If successful, the projects may strengthen Vietnam’s pork supply chain, support export ambitions, and encourage further high-tech agricultural investment.
