Vino, as he is fondly called, is remembered for his decades of leadership, innovation, and commitment to farmers.

PIC Philippines confirmed the passing of its President, Vincent ‘Vino’ Raphael M. Borromeo, on December 12, 2025. Mr Borromeo, 56, suffered a heart attack after completing a site visit of two farm projects in Quezon and Bicol scheduled for commissioning.
He joined PIC Philippines in March 2000 as Assistant General Manager and later became President and General Manager, leading the company’s operations for more than 25 years.
During his tenure, he oversaw the expansion of PIC’s swine genetic programs, strengthened partnerships with local producers, and guided the company through industry challenges such as African Swine Fever (ASF).
In a statement, PIC Philippines said: “Vino relentlessly pursued not only the company’s business goals over the years but also unselfishly shared to the pork industry, which he dearly loved, his knowledge and experience, which were honed through many years of working in pig farms and collaborating with farmers and pork producers. He was not only a great leader and a valued colleague but also a friend whose sincerity and kindness touched the lives of many.”
Prior to PIC, Mr Borromeo worked with Monterey Foods Corporation/San Miguel Food Group from 1991 to 2000. He held a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, major in Animal/Livestock Husbandry and Production from the University of the Philippines.
He is remembered for his leadership, technical expertise, and contributions to the pork industry.
