Isabela province plays a key role in the national swine industry, leading recovery from African Swine Fever and promoting modern practices.

The province supports small farmers by building artificial insemination centers and techno-demo farms to improve pig quality and boost local production.

Artificial insemination boosts genetic quality

One such effort is the establishment of a Swine Artificial Insemination sa Barangay facility, the first of its kind in the region. The project also falls under the INSPIRE program. It features a climate-controlled lab, biosecure housing for eight boars, and equipment for producing high-quality processed semen.

By upgrading facilities and sharing new technologies, Isabela aims to raise productivity, grow local economies, and strengthen food security across the region.
