Pilmico Animal Nutrition Corp, an integrated agribusiness and food company in the Philippines, has partnered with Infinity Vocational Training School Inc (IVTSI) and the government to deliver technical training at its Tarlac Meatmasters processing plant. The facility provides a unique environment where trainees gain practical experience under strict food safety and operational standards.

Josh Douglas, Aboitiz Foods’ Assistant Technical Director for Meats Operations, emphasized that investing in people is as vital as investing in facilities. He noted that opening Tarlac Meatmasters for training helps aspiring professionals build discipline and food safety practices essential to the industry.
He added that the program reflects Pilmico’s broader commitment to strengthening the country’s food value chain by combining modern infrastructure with workforce development.
Unlike traditional classroom settings, participants rotate through operational areas such as lairage, slaughter rooms, meat-cutting sections, and chilled storage. This exposure allows them to understand the precision and teamwork required in modern meat processing. It also highlights the importance of biosecurity and hygiene protocols, which are critical in ensuring safe and reliable food products.
The facility’s Triple AAA accreditations for slaughterhouse, meat cutting, and cold storage highlight Pilmico’s commitment to excellence. IVTSI president Roy Aldous Bautista said combining government-aligned curriculum with Pilmico’s resources elevates vocational education. This will give students a competitive edge locally and abroad. He noted that the partnership bridges academic learning with industry practice, preparing graduates for real-world challenges.
For trainees, the program delivers more than certification. It offers meaningful exposure to professional meat processing operations, allowing them to build confidence and practical skills that can open doors to diverse career opportunities.
Following the pilot run, Pilmico and IVTSI aim to train up to 50 participants by year-end. Interested individuals can reach out to IVTSI via its Facebook page.
