
USSEC’s new regional model enhances global program delivery, with Mr Salinas leading East Asia to expand trust and market access.
The US Soybean Export Council (USSEC) has announced a new regional structure to enhance efficiency and better serve international customers.
As part of the reorganization, Carlos Salinas has been appointed Executive Director for East Asia, effective October 1. Based in Shanghai, China, he will lead efforts to build trust, strengthen relationships, and expand market access across the region.
USSEC East Asia covers Australia, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

USSEC CEO Jim Sutter said the reorganization aligns with strategic goals and global market dynamics. The updated model streamlines administration and realigns export market boundaries.

USSEC’s new structure is designed to:

“The new structure strengthens USSEC’s focus on strategic priorities, vital relationships, and ensures US Soy remains the trusted partner of choice for customers around the world. I have praised Mr Salinas’ leadership and regional expertise.”
Global agribusiness experience
Mr Salinas has over 25 years of experience in international trade and agribusiness. His background includes leadership roles at Continental Grain, Bunge, and ADM.
He has worked in the US, Germany, Brazil, Singapore, and Mexico. Most recently, he served as USSEC’s Regional Director for the Americas.
