Taiwan Expo 2026 brought together 125 Taiwanese companies in Manila, highlighting technologies across agriculture, energy, healthcare, and digital industries. Livestock and poultry solutions were among the featured agricultural innovations aimed at modernizing food production in the Philippines.
Animal protein production remains vital to Philippine food security. At the expo, Taiwanese firms presented livestock environmental controls, agricultural automation, and autonomous farming equipment. These were showcased at the Agritech and Food Pavilion, alongside food processing, preservation, and packaging systems.
Exhibitors emphasized that such technologies could help Philippine producers improve efficiency and sustainability.
Agriculture employed 20.7% of the Philippine workforce in late 2025 but contributed only 7.9% to GDP. This imbalance underscores the need for modernization. Government initiatives have already shown results, with modern rice processing systems lifting milling recovery rates from 55–58% to as high as 63–65%.
Taiwanese agricultural technologies presented at the expo aim to build on these gains. They offer solutions to strengthen productivity across farming and food systems, including livestock and poultry production.
Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) Chairman James C. F. Huang emphasized trust as the foundation of Taiwan‑Philippines relations, noting that exchanges now extend beyond industrial supply chains into consumer‑facing products and services. Officials from both sides pointed to opportunities for collaboration, particularly in electronics and semiconductors, where Taiwan is a global leader and the Philippines relies heavily on exports.

The inaugural Taiwan‑Japan‑Philippines Industrial Cooperation Forum also underscored regional collaboration, focusing on green energy and smart city development. Companies such as Shihlin Electric & Engineering and Fortune Electric joined discussions with Philippine partners to explore integration opportunities.
For the Philippine animal protein sector, the technologies presented at Taiwan Expo 2026 offer pathways to higher productivity, better resource management, and stronger food security. With livestock and poultry production facing rising demand and climate pressures, the integration of Taiwanese agricultural automation and environmental control systems could accelerate modernization.
